Jonathan was born in 1974 in Huntingburg, Indiana. He spent two weeks every summer with his grandma who allowed him to check out stories about Bigfoot, the Mothman and ghost stories from the library. This developed a love for the weird, scary and strange that continues to this day.

After a move to Columbus, Ohio, Jonathan began a campus discussion group, The Thomas Society, at The Ohio State University. This group focused on dialogue between Christians and atheists. Such discussions prompted the university to award The Thomas Society and the Secular Student Alliance group with a Multicultural Award. Because of this work, the Secular Student Alliance, an international Student atheist group, asked him to be on their speaker’s bureau, the only Christian minister to hold this distinction.

In his spare time, Jonathan hangs out with his wife, three kids and a crazy cat. He loves to read, watch football, and generally come up with nutty ideas.

Jonathan also loves the following causes and thinks you should support them: International Justice Mission, Central Ohio Rescue and Restore, One Campaign, and KIVA.
